BSOHSAS18001 Internal Auditor Awareness
This one day course which can be
tailored to suit your own operations introduces your delegates to Internal Auditing with 18001 as the discipline applied. The course is an interactive session which reviews the
requirements of the Internatioanl Standard for auditing (ISO19011) in the health and safety environment.
BSOHSAS18001 Internal Auditor
This two day course which can be
tailored to suit your own operations fully explores the role of the internal auditor. The course is an interactive session which reviews the
needs of the business and assesses the basic auditing tools that will be needed to achieve
a return on investment. Role play or actual site audits are used to confirm delegates are able to apply the skills introduced on the first day of the course.
Manual Handling
Under
the manual Handling operations regulations ( MHOR), Manual handling is
interpreted as the transporting or supporting of any load, which also
includes a person or an animal.
All
aspects of safe manual handling are covered within this essential
training, with the emphasis very much on practical techniques in safe
methods of lifting and carrying for those employees who undertake manual
handling activities.
The
course includes a visual presentation covering employers and employees
responsibilities under the health and safety at work act and a brief
overview of the manual handling operations regulations. Also included
is a brief explanation of Work related upper limb disorders and the
cause and effect these can have on people. Correct lifting techniques
are explained including team lifting.
A
practical assessment is then undertaken in the workplace demonstrating
correct lifting techniques to be used in delegate’s workplace, and then
all delegates must demonstrate correct and safe lifting techniques to
show they have understood and assimilated the training.
Fire Marshal training
This includes a basic introduction to fire prevention in the workplace
and emergency procedures, also how to identify and operate various fire
extinguishers and other associated equipment found in the workplace.
Risk assessment course
This
course provides in depth practical knowledge and application techniques
to enable candidates to undertake Risk assessment in their own
workplace, in line with the requirements of Reg 3 and 4 of the
Management of health and safety at work Regulations 1999, explaining the
principles of a suitable and sufficient risk assessment and hierarchy
of control. When completed candidates should have the competence and
skills to undertake work based risk assessments with confidence
COSHH assessment training
This
course provides a grounding in the application of the COSSH Regs and
the principles of undertaking a COSHH assessments. When completed
candidates should have the competence and skills to undertake work based
COSHH assessments with confidence.
ART and MAC assessment
This
course explains principles of undertaking and using the HSE`s ART and
Mac assessment tools, guiding delegates through the process using
practical examples from their own workplace. When completed candidates
should have the competence and skills to undertake work based ART and
Mac assessments with confidence. This course can take up to three days to
ensure competence is achieved and a maximum of 6 delegates would be
taken on this course, as more specialised training is required, each
workstation is filmed and tape is then slowed down to highlight
potential repetitive strain injuries of the task in line with HSE art
tool.
